Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Access professional for the Emergency Department to provide day-to-day team support, mentoring, and process improvement in registration and pre-service workflows.

You will work with internal/external departments, ensure accurate data collection, and maintain excellent patient experiences. A high school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred. Flexible shifts and opportunities to float between ED locations are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• Experience: 1+ year in patient access or large hospital front office.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and compliance.
• Professional communication and data collection ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to the team by solving problems with internal and external customers.
• Mentor point-of-service operations staff and coach team members.
• Assist in improving processes for accurate pre-registration, registration, and denial prevention.
• Assist supervisor in optimizing registration processes and patient experiences.
• Communicate effectively with all departments and clinics to Dayton Children’s Hospital.
• Engage internal and external customers with de-escalation techniques in the absence of management.
