Job summary

Duke University Health System’s PRMO seeks a Service Access Team Leader to oversee patient registration, scheduling, and front-desk operations within the clinic setting. You will ensure accurate demographic and insurance updates, collect payments, and support efficient clinic workflow, contributing to excellent patient experiences.

The role requires leadership in a fast-paced environment, adherence to privacy and accuracy standards, and collaboration with care teams to optimize daily processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Four years of experience in a healthcare setting are required; an Associate's degree may substitute for two years, a Bachelor's degree may substitute for four years.
• Strong verbal and written communication, basic PC skills, and data entry ability are essential.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette is required.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and provide clear oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Review today's and next day's patient lists and prepare as required.
• Manage clinic work queues and ensure referrals and orders are processed.
• Obtain imprest cash bag.
• Identify operational improvements and communicate opportunities to management.
• Perform related clerical duties as assigned by Service Access Manager.
