Job summary

University of California - Irvine Health is seeking a Patient Registration professional to manage patient intake, verify funding, and schedule surgeries. The role requires strong customer service, medical terminology knowledge, and experience with registration systems.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of hospital or clinic registration experience, proficiency in MS Office and Epic, and the ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings. English fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with patient registration and registration scheduling systems.
• General understanding of medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Demonstrated experience using MS Office.
• Ability to travel to off-site physician practices.
• Minimum one year of recent experience registering patients in a hospital or clinic, or working as a Medical Assistant or in medical billing.
• Knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes.
• Experience with authorization processes and surgical scheduling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
• Verify patient funding to cover services.
• Schedule patients for surgery.
• Respond to patient inquiries and resolve identified issues.
