Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Registration Clerk to perform all tasks necessary to register patients, obtain authorizations, verify funding, and schedule patients for surgery. Responds to patient inquiries and resolves any identified issues.

The role requires experience with patient registration systems, knowledge of ICD9/CPT codes, and excellent English communication. Travel to off-site physician practices may be required, and weekend/evening hours are possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year recent experience registering patients in a hospital or clinic.
• General knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Must be able to travel to off-site physician practices.
• Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in the registration system and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Verify the patient has a source of funding to cover services.
• Schedule patients for surgery.
