Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, and experience in healthcare administration or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in patient access, admissions, registration, financial counseling, revenue cycle, or related healthcare operations.
• Knowledge of patient registration, admissions, insurance verification, authorization, and financial counseling processes.
• Supervisory experience involving daily operations, staffing assignments, workflow coordination, and employee development.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, payer requirements, reimbursement practices, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Leadership skills to coach employees, address performance issues, and promote teamwork and collaboration.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with EHR systems, registration platforms, scheduling tools, and standard business software.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of labor agreements, workplace policies, and HR practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily patient access operations across registration, admissions, insurance verification, authorizations, financial counseling, and point-of-service collections.
• Coordinate staff schedules, assignments, and staffing coverage to maintain efficient operations.
• Monitor registration accuracy, productivity, work queues, and documentation, guiding improvements to reduce errors and denials.
• Lead staff orientation, training, competency development, and performance management activities.
• Support financial screening and assistance programs for uninsured/underinsured patients and improve collections performance.
• Collaborate with clinical departments and revenue cycle partners to resolve patient access issues and improve patient flow.
• Oversee administrative activities including payroll approvals, staffing assessments, resource coordination, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medi-Cal, commercial payer requirements, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
• Participate in quality improvement, denial prevention, service excellence, and revenue cycle initiatives.
