University of California - Los Angeles Health in Los Angeles seeks a Patient Access Representative to pre-register, pre-admit, and admit patients by phone or in person. You will collect demographics and review insurance benefits to ensure proper patient processing.

You will obtain prior authorizations, handle cash collections, and work with Medi-Cal/ CCS and Medicare requirements while coordinating with physicians and hospital staff to optimize reimbursement and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Typing speed of 55 WPM or faster.
• Knowledge of medical terminology for procedure identification.
• Experience handling cash receipts and payments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Familiarity with state/federal reimbursement programs (Medicare/Medicaid/ CCS).
• Strong written communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Pre-registers, pre-admits, and admits patients by telephone and/or in person.
• Collects accurate demographic information and reviews insurance benefits.
• Obtains prior authorizations and conducts cash collections; interfaces with Medi-Cal, CCS, and other programs.
• Implements Medicare requirements and coordinates with physicians and hospital staff.
• Refers cases to internal/external sources to assist discharge/post-hospital care.
• Interacts with Utilization Review and Patient Business Services to ensure timely reimbursement.
