We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedPatient Access Supervisorto oversee the daily operations of the patient access team at our state-of- the-art, free standing emergency room. In this role, you will ensure that all aspects of patient intake, registration, and billing processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
AtComplete Care, you will lead a team of patient access representatives, while also ensuring a high level of customer service, compliance with hospital policies, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the patient access team, providing guidance and training to ensure proper registration procedures and protocols are followed.
- Oversee the intake process for emergency room patients, including verifying insurance information, gathering necessary documentation, and ensuring proper patient identification.
- Maintain accurate records of all patient interactions, registration details, and insurance information in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to patient access and billing, including HIPAA.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve issues or concerns, ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth flow of patient information and coordination of services.
- Assist in scheduling, training, and evaluating patient access staff performance.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient access and workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with insurance companies, billing departments, and third-party vendors to resolve patient billing issues and discrepancies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient access policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a healthcare or emergency room setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role required.
- Strong knowledge of patient access processes, insurance verification, and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient registration software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve goals and deliver exceptional service.
- Customer-focused with a strong commitment to improving the patient experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a Free Standing Emergency Room or Emergency Department setting.
- Associate’s degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
