Bryan Health is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to lead the Scheduling, Registration/Admissions and related front desk activities. You will coordinate staffing, ensure accurate patient information capture, and optimize patient flow across hospital and clinic procedures.

Key requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years in patient access or financial services, 2 years in customer service, and prior supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in patient access/patient financial services in the medical field required.
  • Two (2) years' experience in a customer service position desired.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate and implement activities of the Patient Access departments (Switchboard, Scheduling, Registration/Admissions).
  • Ensure efficient patient flow for hospital and clinic procedures and appointments.
  • Maintain internal control procedures for maximum efficiency and satisfaction for patients and providers.
  • Hire, train, supervise, coach and mentor staff; validate competencies and provide ongoing support.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures; ensure scheduling software is used effectively.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments to meet staffing, scheduling and service goals.

Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing the activities of the Patient Access (Switchboard, Scheduling, and Registration/Admissions) departments. This includes pre-admitting, admitting, receptionist and registration duties (registration also includes insurance verification, authorizations, pre-certification, estimates and collections), conducting audits of such, and scheduling of patients for hospital and clinic procedures and appointments. Implements and maintains necessary internal control procedures to ensure maximum efficiencies and patient and provider satisfaction.

YOUR ROLE WOULD ENCOMPASS:
  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  • Assists with formation of department goals, objectives, plans and programs in alignment with the overall Medical Center.
  • Assists with the department budgetary procedure to ensure proper operational and capital planning, appropriate and efficient use of resources and consistent compliance to budgetary and fiscal controls.
  • Participates in conjunction with the Clinical Operations Director in hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, and retraining of team members, including updating processes, answering questions and providing support to the patient access team, clinical teams and providers.
  • Assists with validating staff competencies and provides additional training as needed.
  • Promotes organizational and individual success through ongoing support, encouragement, empowerment and effective teamwork to enhance staff skills and productivity.
  • Works closely with all CAMC leadership and providers to ensure needs are met related to the department.
  • Responsible for coordination of services to meet all regulations.
  • Assists in coordination of staff work schedules and providing adequate staffing of the department.
  • Shares in responsibilities for patient, provider and employee satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures.
  • Works with all departments collaboratively to maximize patient flow for quality and efficiency.
  • Works within the team for normal job duties and functions within the team and fills in team members in areas outside of the normal, when needed to maintain minimum staffing.
  • Ensures that the department validates and compiles accurate statistics and distributes them, as necessary.
  • Ensures that a current training manual for the areas is maintained.
  • Ensures scheduling software is used accurately and to its full potential.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN):
  • Graduation from a high school or equivalent - required
  • Graduation with an associate's degree in business administration or related field - preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in patient access/patient financial services in the medical field - required
  • Two (2) years' experience in a customer service position - desired
  • Prior supervisory experience - preferred
