Job summary

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor who will partner with the department Director or Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure satisfaction for patients, families, physicians, and staff. The role covers all areas within the Patient Access department and requires strong leadership.

The ideal candidate has high school diploma, 1–2 years supervisory experience in admitting areas, and solid knowledge of payer principles and COBRA laws.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience as a supervisor in admitting areas of an acute care facility or medical group preferred.
• Must understand third party payer principles and COBRA laws.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

The Patient Access Supervisor works closely with the department Director or Manager overseeing department operations and function. Works to ensure patient, family, and Physician satisfaction on a daily basis. Is responsible for all areas within the Patient Access department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. One to two years experience as a supervisor in the Admitting areas of an acute care facility or medical group, preferred.

3. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws. Strong organizational skills required for effective communication withpatients, physicians, public, staff and administrations. Must be able to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

4. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

5. Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.

7. Analytical and problem-solving skills.

8. Customer Services experience required.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $21.60 to $31.28. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
