Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED requested.
• Prior medical office/hospital admitting experience preferred.
• Experience with billing or insurance terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview patients to collect demographic and insurance data.
• Input information into computer; obtain signatures on consent forms.
• Explain billing processes and payment options to patients and families.
• Collect and verify insurance cards; obtain necessary consent signatures.
• Collect payments/co-pays and coordinate with Patient Accounting for payment plans.
• Assist in bed assignment and patient transport coordination.
• Provide coverage for PBX and receptionist duties as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist in audits to ensure accurate registrations and reimbursements.
