Job summary

Direct Jobs is seeking a Patient Access Representative to facilitate a welcoming and efficient entrance to the facility. You will establish encounters for patients who meet hospital guidelines and ensure accurate demographic and financial data entry.

You will verify insurance eligibility, obtain required authorizations, and collect estimated patient portions based on benefits and contracts, while supporting financial counseling and program assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
• 1 ? 3 years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Accurately inputs all required data elements for scheduling and registration, including patient demographic, financial information, guarantor information, and relevant notes associated with the encounter.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains necessary authorizations for services rendered.
• Calculates and collects the estimated patient portion based on benefits and contract reimbursement as well as prior balances.
• Performs financial assessment for appropriate program assistance.
