Job summary

The TOA Patient Access Representative is our patients' biggest advocate. This role provides patients with top notch customer service and understands TOA physicians, locations, and services inside and out to ensure our patients are getting connected to the best care possible for each unique situation.

This role handles inbound calls, collects patient demographics and insurance information, schedules appointments via NextGen, and coordinates between clinics to ensure timely, personalized care for

Qualifications

  • Provide excellent customer service on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic tone during calls, even with high volumes.
  • Communicate effectively over the phone with patients and staff.
  • Be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with patient appointment scheduling and EMR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls from new and existing patients.
  • Obtain patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Listen to patient medical history including surgical history and imaging history.
  • Identify relevant details to schedule the most convenient appointment.
  • Schedule appointments through NextGen.
  • Resolve patient questions using TOA guidelines and resources.
  • Navigate multiple screens/systems while documenting information and checking physician availability.
  • Review online appointment requests and schedule them accordingly.
  • Handle inbound referrals for designated physicians.
  • Respond to time-sensitive emails and deescalate conflicts with patients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
