Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Sugar Land Hospital is seeking a patient access representative to perform registration and admitting functions across access points, including Emergency Department and main registration.

You will gather demographic and insurance data, verify eligibility, and support timely access to care while maintaining privacy standards. You will collaborate with the care team, communicate financial responsibilities to patients, schedule appointments, and help resolve routine discrepancies

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Knowledge of patient registration procedures and health insurance payers.
• Experience in healthcare or patient access preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient registration across access points with accurate demographic information and benefits verification.
• Scan, index, and manage patient documentation for registration, billing, and clinical workflows.
• Communicate patient financial responsibility and collect payments at the time of service as appropriate.
• Schedule, confirm, and revise patient appointments to support timely access to care.
• Identify and resolve routine registration and insurance discrepancies per established workflows.
• Provide patient-facing support via telephone and other approved channels.
