Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years: healthcare office setting and/or strong customer service background preferred.
• Registration/Admissions: proficient in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency admits.
• Completes Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers in a timely manner when applicable.
• Ability to monitor and perform patient hospital and/or ambulatory movement.
• Utilizes EPIC work queue to pre-register scheduled patients.
• Verifies medical necessity per CMS standards and communicates coverage and eligibility information to the patient.
• Accurately identifies and enters patient demographics, insurance, and financial information including inpatient and outpatient benefits.
• Gathers and verifies confidential health and financial information from patients for payment.
• Confirms the completeness of the electronic health record (EHR) and makes necessary changes.

Responsibilities

• The APAR handles front-office and back-office functions including visitor contact, patient registration, and financial clearance.
• Performs check-ins, scheduling, and payment collection; verifies insurance and CMS compliance information.
• Ensures accurate patient demographics and insurance data are entered and maintained in the system; supports EHR completeness.
