Responsibilities

• The APAR is the first contact for visitors, handling customer service, patient registration, and financial clearance.
• Performs check-ins, scheduling, payment collection, and insurance verification.
• Ensures compliance and prepares patients administratively and financially for visits.
• Completes admissions, discharges, and transfers in a timely manner.
• Monitors patient movement within hospital and ambulatory settings.
• Uses EPIC work queue to pre-register scheduled patients.
• Verifies CMS coverage and eligibility information.
• Gathers and verifies patient demographics, insurance and financial information.
• Confirms completeness of the electronic health record (EHR) and makes necessary changes.
