Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalency.
• Experience: One-year experience in healthcare access, customer service, and/or financial setting.
• Preferred Education: Associates degree.
• Preferred Experience: Three years of experience in healthcare access, customer service, and/or financial setting.

Responsibilities

• Accurately completes a quality registration in the HIS system that maintains the integrity of demographic and financial information.
• Responsible for utilization of time and management of work processes to ensure organizational and departmental expectations are met.
• Verification and review of insurance benefits and financial clearance for all payors at each encounter.
• Works with Centralized Referral Center to ensure prior authorizations have been obtained.
• Research and resolve all registration occurrences for demographic, clinical and insurance accuracy.
• Adheres to state and federal regulations and system policies regarding compliance and ethical registration practices.
• Complete patient estimate letter and process patient payments for account posting.
• Practices AIDET in all customer/patient encounters.
• Reviews and ensures that medical orders meet government and hospital guidelines.
