Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a Part-time Representative I - Patient Access to provide patient-focused service, complete outpatient and inpatient registration, and verify insurance. The role includes collecting payments and ensuring patients meet financial requirements including Medicare considerations.

A two-week training period is required, M-F 8a-4:30p. Per Diem and weekend rotation are required. HFMA/NAHAM certificates should be obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.
• Medical terminology and insurance verification knowledge helpful; ability to explain benefits and obtain authorizations.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-focused customer service and performs outpatient/inpatient registration and insurance verification.
• Collects patient financial liability payments and ensures eligibility including Medicare pre-certifications and referrals.
• Distributes analytical reports and supports performance improvement activities.
• Researches and analyzes information to support operational projects and leadership decisions.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, policies and codes of conduct to ensure ethical and safe practices.
