Job summary

Singing River Health System seeks a Registration Specialist at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital. You will be the first point of contact, interviewing patients to collect demographic, financial, and insurance data required for billing and account collection.

You will screen for insurance pre-certification and ensure privacy practices are followed. You will help minimize risk by correct patient identification and by recording privacy preferences, while supporting the Revenue Cycle with accuracy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Experience in hospital or physician office registration and scheduling, insurance verification, or customer service preferred.
• CHAA or CRCR certification preferred, de-escalation training completed by orientation (90 days).

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to collect demographic, financial, and insurance information needed for billing and accounts collection.
• Screen for insurance pre-certification requirements.
• Ensure correct patient identification, avoid duplicate medical record numbers, and provide patient rights and privacy information.
• Support Revenue Cycle by maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in registrations and related tasks.
