Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Registration Specialist within Patient Access Services. You will be the first point of contact, interviewing patients to collect demographic, financial, and insurance information for billing and collections, while ensuring privacy and accuracy.

The role emphasizes de-escalation skills, customer service excellence, and coordination with the clinical and billing teams to support a smooth revenue cycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred; de-escalation training to be completed within 90 days.
• Experience in hospital or physician office registration, scheduling, insurance verification, or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to collect complete and accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information for billing and collections.
• Screen for insurance pre-certification requirements and ensure proper patient identification and privacy practices.
• Minimize medical risk and health-system liability by accurate registrations and record-keeping.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in registration tasks to support Revenue Cycle goals.
