This role supports a busy care team, communicates with patients and providers, handles scheduling, payments, and referrals while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Medical office and computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and update demographic and insurance data.
• Verify insurance eligibility and ensure accuracy of registration forms.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient demographics and insurance screens.
• Answer multi-line phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect patient payments and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
• Schedule referrals and outpatient testing.
• Register new patients from referrals and contact providers for appointments.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain proper authorization/certification.
• Register inpatients from billing census sheets.
• Collaborate with Physician Billing to resolve issues.
• Coordinate care with the health care team to meet patient needs.
