Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Credentialed Medical Assistant to support the Orthopedic Associates. The role involves assisting with patient exams, collecting vitals, handling prescriptions, and coordinating referrals.

The candidate will work on-site in Portsmouth, OH with standard full-time hours and opportunities to contribute across the department. The position requires CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/AMCA licensure and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Credentialed Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/AMCA) is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider with patient examinations, procedures, venipuncture, and other diagnostic testing.
• Collect and document patient vitals, past medical history, and chief complaints.
• Phone/electronic prescription processing to pharmacies and coordination of referrals.
• Stock clinical supplies and help with scheduling, scanning, and medical record documentation.
• Collaborate with Surgery Department and Central Scheduling for procedures and patient care planning.

Education

High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam
