Job summary

Compass Community Health in Portsmouth, OH seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to perform health care and related tasks within the Health Care Center, under the supervision of the Clinic and Compliance Director.

You will collect specimens, support lab testing, document care in the electronic health record, maintain a clean environment, and participate in care team huddles and quality improvement activities. You must protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CMA certification required.
• Prior experience in patient/family health care environment preferred.
• Knowledge about the disease of alcohol addiction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as allowed within scope of practice.
• Gathers and processes specimens for required documentation and lab testing.
• Collects specimens for alcohol and other drug testing per clinic protocol.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment for staff and patients.
• Assists with inventory control and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Participates in pre-visit planning and uses the electronic health record to document care.
