Job summary

City of Hope in Southern California seeks a dedicated patient registration and scheduling coordinator to join the care team. You will register, pre-register, schedule all appointment types, and support patients through the check-in and check-out process.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses and care teams to ensure accurate patient information, manage scheduling across departments, and resolve issues with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years related experience registering and scheduling complex patient appointments in a clinic or hospital setting.
• Medical terminology experience required.
• EPIC electronic medical record experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers, pre-registers, consents and schedules patient appointments across clinics, ancillary areas and hospital.
• Verifies insurance, collects co-pays and ensures financial clearance when needed.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses and care team members to coordinate patient care and keep operations seamless.
• Provides excellent customer service and acts as a liaison for patients and staff.
