Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor and enters information in the computer system.
• Explains required forms to the patient or guarantor and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining data, reviewing systems, and obtaining signatures.
• Protects financial integrity by collecting patient liability and discussing payment options.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and ensures notifications and authorizations are completed in timeframes.
• Posts payments and generates patient receipts.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, departments, staff, insurance companies, patients and families; completes documentation.
• Adheres to policies and contributes to budgetary and quality standards.
• Promotes professional growth and acts as mentor to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment by creating compassionate experiences for patients and colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.
