Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments and enters required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor and enters it with accuracy.
• Explains forms to patient or guarantor and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by data collection and communication with patient or guarantor.
• Protects facility finances by collecting patient liability and establishing payment arrangements.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and ensures notifications are completed in timeframes.
• Posts payments and generates patient receipts.
• Monitors and resolves patient account issues on assigned reports.
• Communicates professionally with physicians, departments, staff, insurers, patients and families; completes documentation.
• Adheres to policies, procedures and standards within budget, managing time and resources effectively.
• Promotes professional growth and serves as mentor to less experienced staff.
