Job summary

Nemours is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access Specialist I to join Nemours Children’s Health in Orlando, FL. This role focuses on accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and collecting patient responsibility while maintaining HIPAA standards.

The position emphasizes excellent customer service and collaboration with clinical partners. Travel to other locations is required, and the team aims to deliver compassionate care across our pediatric network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Healthcare experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Medical Office/Call Center experience.
• Travel to other locations required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary service and complete accurate registration for each encounter.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine patient financial responsibility with a good faith estimate when applicable.
• Update demographics, insurance, PCP/referring physician, and pharmacy as needed.
• Explain all forms and collect patient balances at the time of service.
• Ensure accurate patient accounts, verify eligibility and benefits, and balance cash/receipts at day end.
• Cross-train to support Patient Financial Services as needed.
