Bayhealth is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I to support Route 9 Primary Care, DI and Emergency at the Milton, DE location. This entry-level role focuses on accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and upfront payment estimation within a busy hospital system.

The position is part-time (40 hours) with a day shift. Training in Epic and payer verification will be provided, with opportunities to advance to PAS II after gaining experience and demonstrating core competencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is required.
• Knowledge of healthcare or medical office environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic or payer portals is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Provide payment estimates and collect co-pays, deductibles, and other balances.
• Schedule appointments and assist with referrals and prior authorizations as needed.
• Utilize the EHR to document transactions and maintain patient flow.
• Follow department processes to ensure compliance and high-quality customer service.
