Job summary

FMOL Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative 1 to accurately register inpatients, outpatients, and ER patients in the EMR, verify insurance, calculate and collect patient balances, and obtain necessary authorizations. • Knowledge of EMTALA, HIPAA, and insurance verification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in EMR and verify demographics and insurance.
• Obtain required signatures and explain hospital documents to patients/guardians.
• Verify eligibility and obtain necessary service authorizations.
• Collect patient payments and balance cash drawers.
• Document encounters thoroughly for cross‑functional communication.
