Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to join our front office team. You will pre-register and register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure accurate data entry in our registration system.

Under supervision, you will deliver compassionate service, greet patients, and support financial counseling and scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in customer service is preferred in a clinical/medical setting.
• Demonstrates compassion, empathy and professional conduct with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register/register patients for scheduled/unscheduled services.
• Interview patients to obtain demographics/insurance information.
• Obtain IDs and insurance cards and document in the registration system.
• Notify patients of visit status and coordinate insurance verification.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances per policy.
• Deliver superior customer service following AIDET guidelines.
• Direct patients to appropriate location and assist with transport as needed.
• Maintain waiting area and ensure supplies for registration.
