Job summary

SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, IL, is seeking a full-time Patient Scheduler to coordinate procedures and collect demographic, insurance and clinical information.

You will schedule procedures, assist with pre-certification, provide patient counseling, and manage registrations. Education: High School diploma/GED or 10 years experience; no prior experience required. Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:30AM–5:00PM.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information from patient and enters into appropriate database.
• Schedules patient procedures in a manner that most efficiently utilizes the patient's time and clinical resources.
• Assists with coordination of activities related to insurance pre-certification/authorization.
• Provides counseling to patient, participant or their representative regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
• Performs clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
