Job summary

JAG Physical Therapy in Scotch Plains, NJ is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure smooth operation of the healthcare environment and top-tier patient service. You will greet patients, manage appointments, maintain records, and assist with authorizations and insurance processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical assistant certificate program preferred.
• 1+ years of experience as a medical receptionist/administrative assistant in healthcare.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to JAG locations according to policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in the medical office.
• Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions.
• Field calls using the general office number.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments using medical office software.
• Register new patients and update records.
• Distribute forms to ensure required fields are completed.
• Daily collection of patient financial responsibility.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
• Complete and track insurance verifications, authorizations, and referrals.
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and Auto claim submissions.
• Perform other duties as required.
