Job summary

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Patient Services Representative to support Gastroenterology Associates in Penn Hills. You will greet patients, assist with check-in and registration, collect copays, and schedule follow-ups in person and by phone.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, healthcare exposure, and a high school diploma. Proficiency with computers and Epic is preferred; occasional travel for coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service within a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Familiarity with office equipment and basic computer use.
• Must meet HIPAA requirements and maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and guide them through check-in and self-arrival tools.
• Collect copayments and process payments at the point of service.
• Verify and update patient registration and insurance details.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate ancillary services.
• Triage phone calls and route to appropriate clinical staff.
• Maintain accurate records and support administrative duties.
