Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for the Carlisle, PA area. The role is full-time, day shift, supporting patient intake, registration, and initial insurance verification to help secure hospital reimbursement.

You will interact with patients, payers, and clinical staff, ensuring accurate demographic data, proper authorization when needed, and timely processing of registrations. Strong customer service and knowledge of insurance plans are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification is preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO/PPO/Medicare/Medicaid plans and payors.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus in some markets.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient tracking and billing by obtaining demographic information.
• Verify insurance benefits and confirm correct payor and plan.
• Collect out-of-pocket responsibility to maximize reimbursement.
• Provide excellent customer service at the front desk and over the phone.
• Maintain accurate registration and medical records in the system.
