Job summary

SWLA Center for Health Services seeks a Patient Access Registrar to greet patients and visitors, collect paperwork, enter accurate demographics and insurance data, collect copays, and guide sliding fee scale applications.

The role reports to the Site Operations Manager and requires strong customer service, professional appearance, HIPAA compliance, and attention to detail. Experience in a medical or dental office is preferred and knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid helps.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required and related certifications preferred.
• Certification as Medical Office Assistant and/or Medical Assistant helps.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and insurance plans is essential.
• Understanding insurance verification and eligibility processes is required.
• Demonstrates professional appearance and strong customer service.
• Accurate data entry and adherence to HIPAA guidelines is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Enter/verify patient demographics correctly in system.
• Verify all patient insurance information and benefits.
• Collect copays and self-pay balances at the time of visit.
• Assist patients with kiosks and portal sign-in.
• Review daily payment postings for accuracy.
• Maintain a neat and organized front desk area and log books.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
