Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with patient access: scheduling, registration and financial clearance preferred.
• Ability to verify insurance benefits and collect patient liabilities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; customer service oriented.
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and manages patient flow.
• Completes registration and verifies demographics/insurance.
• Verifies benefits and collects liabilities.
• Follows financial clearance policies when required.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers to Financial Counselor.
• Performs visit closure, schedules follow-ups, and provides documents.
• Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and pre-authifications.
• Communicates issues to management and meets productivity targets.
• Maintains professional relations with patients and staff.
