Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, associate's degree preferred
• Emergency Department experience in hospital/physician practice/customer service preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Register patients and gather complete demographic and insurance information
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits using real-time eligibility tools
• Identify uninsured patients for charity care evaluation
• Collect out-of-pocket liability and copays at point of service
• Enter orders and confirm medical necessity for outpatient visits
• Speak with patients to complete the MSPQ questionnaire for Medicare patients
• Rotate through registration points in outpatient and ED settings
• Adhere to departmental and institutional protocols and regulatory requirements
• Support performance metrics and provide excellent service to patients and families
