Job summary

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and familiarity with EPIC/Cerner, with rotation across service areas and a focus on smooth patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; an associate degree in healthcare or business administration is preferred.
• Emergency Department: Minimum 3 years' experience in hospital, physician practice, or other healthcare customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff in alignment with Jefferson values.
• Collect and verify demographic and insurance information from patients.
• Enter orders and confirm medical necessity for outpatient visits.
• Interview patients to complete Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaire for all Medicare patients.
• Use RTE, Phreesia, or payer websites to verify coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
• Rotate assignments across patient access points (Outpatient Registration and ED).
• Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office; familiar with EPIC and Cerner.
