Blue Ridge Medical Center Inc. is seeking a Patient Access - Call Center Representative to join the care team. You will handle inbound/outbound calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and assist patients and staff to ensure efficient operations and quality patient care.

The role emphasizes courteous communication, multi-tasking, and collaboration with clinical and non-clinical staff to support BRMC’s mission and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-task and team-oriented environment.
• Typing skills and familiarity with computers/programs are essential.
• Degree from a medical or health-related field is a plus.
• Two years’ experience as receptionist, clerk or assistant, preferably in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate telephone system and manage calls with appropriate techniques.
• Communicate clearly and courteously on telephone, in person, and in writing.
• Look up patient accounts in the database using two identifiers, update registrations, verify insurances, and perform related tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Assist in training new employees on care-team processes.
• Schedule and reschedule patient appointments per protocols.
• Verify insurance and notify patients of balances; triage patient needs with staff assistance.
• Coordinate with front office and other departments; handle after-hours messages and escalations.
