The role involves collecting demographic and insurance details to ensure accurate medical records, and managing referrals, authorizations, pre-registration and scheduling across service lines. Responsibilities include entering data into the hospital system, verifying insurance eligibility, and communicating cash requirements to patients prior to service dates.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of patient registration or patient accounting experience required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Prior experience working with Windows-based software.
• In absence of an Associate degree, substitution with CHAA certification or related experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate medical records following JC and DOH standards.
• Manage inbound referrals, authorizations, Pre-Registration and Scheduling; route inquiries to appropriate service lines.
• Enter patient information into Hospital Information System and verify insurance eligibility; identify out-of-pocket costs.
• Communicate with staff and patients regarding cash requirements on or before service date.
