Job summary

Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall is seeking an Associate Patient Access to join the Pre-Access Center in Cornwall, NY.

The role centers on collecting demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate medical record completion and compliance with JC and DOH standards. Responsibilities include managing referrals, authorizations, pre-registration, scheduling, and guiding inquiries to the appropriate service lines.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• AA or AS preferred.
• Three (3) years of patient registration or patient accounting experience required.
• Experience with frequent customer interaction with a diverse community.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English; Spanish a plus.
• Experience with Windows-based software; ability to learn new software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Obtain all demographic and insurance information; ensure accurate medical record completion.
• Manage incoming referrals, authorizations, pre-registration and scheduling, and route inquiries to the correct service lines.
• Enter patient information into the Hospital Information System and verify insurance eligibility.
• Identify out-of-pocket costs and communicate cash requirements with patients before service date.
