Description
Patient Access Specialists, under the supervision of the Supervisor/Patient Access Team Lead, serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and referring providers. They guide patients through the visit process by collecting and recording demographic, clinical, and insurance information to accurately generate patient accounts. Responsibilities include screening for eligibility, preparing patient information for clinical staff, and answering questions to ensure a smooth experience. They provide administrative support such as scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments, and coordinating with care teams. They verify insurance eligibility, review referrals for accurate scheduling, and assist patients in troubleshooting access barriers and answering administrative questions, using the internal knowledge management system.
