Job description

Ready to take your healthcare experience out of the clinic, pharmacy, or call center and into a steady professional office environment?

We are partnering with a growing healthcare organization that is expanding its patient support team and hiring multiple Patient Access Specialists.

This role is all about helping patients navigate the complicated side of healthcare. You'll work with patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies to help verify coverage, coordinate prior authorizations, and keep the process moving so patients can access the care and medications they need.

A Pharmacy Technician license is NOT required. What matters most is that you understand insurance, have prior authorization experience, communicate exceptionally well, and genuinely enjoy helping people.

Why You'll Want This Job
  • Up to $26/hour depending on experience
  • Monday through Friday business schedule
  • No traditional retail pharmacy environment
  • Multiple openings with a growing healthcare organization
  • Structured training to help you become an expert in the role
  • Clear opportunity to grow into more advanced healthcare positions
  • Collaborative, upbeat team environment
  • Comprehensive benefits and long term career stability
What You'll Be Doing
  • Coordinate prior authorizations with insurance companies and healthcare providers
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and pharmacy benefits
  • Investigate coverage issues and help determine next steps for patients
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, physician offices, pharmacies, and patients
  • Help patients navigate the medication access process from start to finish
  • Follow up on outstanding authorizations and documentation
  • Maintain accurate patient and insurance information
  • Document interactions and status updates within internal systems
  • Answer patient questions with patience, professionalism, and empathy
  • Keep cases moving by proactively following up rather than waiting for answers
The Experience We're Looking For
  • Insurance verification or insurance benefits experience required
  • Healthcare, medical office, pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, PBM, patient access, or similar experience
  • Familiarity with prescription medications and pharmacy terminology is highly valued
  • Specialty medication or specialty pharmacy experience is a plus
  • Experience communicating directly with insurance companies and healthcare providers
  • Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
Personality Matters Here

You can know insurance inside and out, but this is ultimately a people-focused role.

We're looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, patient, and genuinely good at communicating with people who may already be frustrated by the healthcare system.

You should be someone who shows up on time, follows through, stays positive, and takes ownership when something needs to get done.

If your coworkers describe you as the person who keeps things moving while still treating everyone with kindness, you'll fit in well here.
