RPC Company is seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist – Pharmacy Technician to support patients, providers, and insurance partners through the medication prior authorization process, ensuring timely access to prescribed medications and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and capable of managing multiple requests, communicating clearly with patients and payers, and helping to improve workflow efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• Other assigned duties related to prior authorizations.

About the Role

We are is seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist – Pharmacy Technician to support patients, providers, and insurance partners through the medication prior authorization process. This role is essential to helping patients gain timely access to prescribed medications while ensuring accurate documentation, clear communication, and compliance with pharmacy industry standards.

The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will manage prior authorization requests, assist patients with questions, coordinate with healthcare providers and payers, and help improve workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance and Process Improvement: Participate in quality assurance initiatives. Provide feedback to optimize the prior authorization workflow. Stay updated on insurance policies and industry developments.
• KPIs Responsibilities; Patient turnaround time, other metrics.
• Other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from an accredited certifying body preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medical terminology, and the prior authorization process.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prior authorization requests and clinic chats efficiently.
• Proficiency using relevant software systems for prior authorization submissions, documentation, and follow-up.
• High attention to detail and accuracy when completing forms and reviewing supporting documentation.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
