Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Patient Services Representative for our physician office operations. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, demographics, insurance verification, scheduling, and chart preparation with accuracy and courtesy.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, experience in patient registration, and strong communication and cash handling skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Prior experience in patient registration/healthcare (preferred).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to schedule, transcribe orders and manage patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary point of contact between patients and physician practices.
• Greets patients and provides excellent customer service.
• Schedules patients and enters scheduling information accurately.
• Verifies demographics, insurance information and completes registration.
• Calculates patient liabilities and collects payments as needed.
• Maintains and updates patient charts and records.
