Job summary

USA Health is seeking a Patient Access Manager to coordinate access services across the Gulf Coast health system. This leadership role emphasizes patient experience, regulatory compliance, and efficient Revenue Cycle processes.

The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and drive improvements in admission and registration workflows while ensuring adherence to Joint Commission standards and hospital policies. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 3 years hospital admitting or directly related experience.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
• Knowledge of Patient Access as it relates to registration, insurance verification, authorization, collection, financial assistance, and third party payer procedures; familiarity with EMTALA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates development, implementation and operation of Access Services across the health system, aligning with strategic initiatives and patient experience.
• Oversees daily operations of department in absence of Assistant Director/Director and manages personnel and Revenue Cycle processes related to patient access.
• Provides training and support to Patient Access staff, administrative and clinical staff to ensure policy adherence and effective system use.
• Assists with personnel functions (recruitment, hiring, evaluations) and participates in budget development and monitoring within resources.
• Develops and updates policies/procedures per Joint Commission and hospital standards; supports reporting and data accuracy in Revenue Cycle.
• Supports strategic planning for department in alignment with the health system's plan; ensures compliance with standards and policies.
• Supervises and mentors Bed Placement staff and coordinates with Nursing Administration for operational efficiency.
• Ensures smooth admitting functions, accurate data capture in HSIS, and proper insurance verification and admission processes.
• Maintains compliance with Infection Control and Safety Standards and ensures regular attendance and schedule adherence.
