Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL seeks a patient scheduling specialist to build relationships with patients, consumers, and co-workers via telephone or Microsoft Teams. You will meet performance metrics, schedule appointments, and verify insurance data to ensure accurate billing while maintaining compliance with patient records and regulations.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Email, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and related software.
• Strong communication with management, staff, vendors and patients.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Knowledge of handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Professional interactions with patients and customers expected.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of EHR preferred.
• Any combination of education, training or experience relevant to duties.
• Familiarity with TJC requirements and state/federal regulations.
• Call center/telephonic experience for inbound and outbound calls.

Responsibilities

• Builds relationships with patients, consumers and co-workers via telephone or Teams.
• Meets daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics.
• Trains effectively in scheduling processes and appointments.
• Schedules patients for visits and procedures accurately.
• Transfers calls to appropriate departments when needed.
• Registers new patients with demographic and insurance data.
• Works with online scheduling and electronic health records.
• Ensures compliance with patient records laws and guidelines.
• Verifies patient data and insurance for accurate billing.
• Handles patient concerns or refers to administration.
• Fills cancellation slots to keep practitioners' schedules booked.
