Job summary

Fulton County Health Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pre-Service Center Specialist to join our Finance team. You will pre-register and schedule tests or procedures, verify insurance coverage, and assess benefits well in advance of service dates.

You will communicate with patients by phone to ensure financial clearance policies are followed, and collaborate with departments to ensure accurate scheduling and data entry while handling confidential information with care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of Medical Terminology coursework.
• Minimum six months of experience in a medical office setting; one year preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and Meditech Expanse registration and scheduling modules.
• Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with patients, their families, staff, and the general public.
• Efficient multitasking and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Associate degree or certification as a Medical Assistant, or CHAA, and/or registration certification preferred.
• Experience in patient scheduling, registration, and financial clearance processes.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients via phone to pre-register and schedule tests or procedures.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits, ensuring compliance with financial clearance policies.
• Complete patient pre-registration and scheduling at least 10 days before service.
• Screen patients for financial clearance eligibility and address any questions or concerns.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and compassionate attitude when interacting with patients and their representatives.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate scheduling and data entry.
• Handle patient information with strict confidentiality and attention to detail.
