Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, verify demographics, register and/or schedule appointments, and handle related paperwork. The role requires clear communication, accuracy, and teamwork across shifts in a healthcare setting.

The PAR may perform registration, scheduling, or both, depending on location, and will handle payments, assist with financial arrangements, and support providers and nursing staff as part of a patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics to register and/or schedule.
• Create electronic files; provide, scan, and route necessary forms and documents.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and/or payments on account balances.
• Coordinate referrals, pre-authorization, and scheduling while supporting providers.
• Mentor new Patient Access Representatives and maintain confidentiality.
