Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks a Patient Access / Registration professional to greet patients, schedule appointments, and handle the check-in process. You will verify demographics, explain insurance benefits, collect co-pays, and support accuracy of patient records in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities include ensuring forms are completed, inputting data accurately, and coordinating with hospital departments to support smooth admissions and billing processes.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital, clinic, medical office, or customer service experience.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and billing guidelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, guests, and family members.
• Create, activate, and complete patient scheduling, clinic registration, or hospital admission processes.
• Gather and verify demographic and financial information; explain insurance benefits and collect payments.
• Perform financial analysis of each case and inform patients of financial responsibility.
• Balance cash drawer daily and follow end-of-shift procedures.
• Maintain professionalism and collaborate with other departments to support patient care.
