Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a front-line patient registration specialist to greet and register patients, verify demographics, and support the check-in and scheduling process. You will process insurance responses, communicate financial responsibilities, and ensure patient privacy in a compliant hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience. This role focuses on accurate data entry, timely communication of wait times, and coordination

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register incoming patients and verify demographics.
• Assist with check-in procedures and monitor patient wait times.
• Read, interpret and apply insurance responses; assign primary, secondary and tertiary insurance.
• Obtain necessary signatures and provide privacy disclosures to patients.
• Explain financial obligations, collect fees at the time of service, and handle next steps for follow-up appointments.
• Coordinate referrals and pre-certifications when applicable during encounters.
